The Fall is an independent animated short film written & directed by myself (Desirae Witte), produced by Phillapa Tanner with associate producer Shai Wallach. Featuring the voice talents of popular YouTube creator Brian David Gilbert, and original music by Jonah Scott of indie band The Altogether, our short film has been recognized with several awards and nominations including Palm Springs ShortFestโ€™s Audience Award for Best Animation, New York International Childrenโ€™s Festival's Audience Choice Award (Ages 10+), and the Directorโ€™s Prize at SPARK Animation 2021. The Fall streamed on CBC Gem exclusively in 2024 as part of CBCโ€™s Canadian Reflections program, and is now available to view on YouTube.

The Fall was a fully independent production, coordinated remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, all while managing full time jobs & families.
